VUC Storstrøm -adult education in Region Zealand, Denmark

VUC Storstrøm is a self-governing Adult Education Centre (VUC) under the Ministry of Education. Regionally VUC Storstrøm belongs to Region Zealand along with three other Adult Education Centres.

We offer general adult education to the citizens in the southern part of Region Zealand. Our mission is to improve adult citizens’ general knowledge and skills from the very basic level to the upper secondary level.

VUC Storstrøm has departments in 6 cities in Region Zealand.

Management

VUC Storstrøm is managed by a Board of Directors comprising a wide range of local stakeholders in educational activities and the labour market. The day-to-day management consists of the management board and five middle managers. Management - VUC

Courses and levels

 

FVU – Preparatory Adult Education which is very basic adult education in Danish and mathematics

AVU – General Adult Education equal to lower secondary level

Hf – higher preparatory single subject courses at upper secondary level

Web-based learning at upper secondary level

Special training for dyslectic people

Customized continued training for a large number of public as well as private businesses and institutions.

Our mission

VUC Storstrøm believes in an adult educational environment based on responsibility, cooperation and respect.

Via education, VUC Storstrøm will strengthen young people and adults’ active involvement in society and their opportunities to improve their own lives.

We give weight to development and international cooperation, offering educational and professional competences of a high standard.

Teaching

Traditional classroom teaching


The teacher has a class of students, we use digital materials and students use interactive media to submit their assignments.

Parallel teaching


The teacher attends to two classes in two different classrooms simultaneously. Teacher and student can all interact via video conference and interactive media.

Clobal Classroom


Student in flexible HF and Global Football Classroom join class from their home via video conference. The equipment is also used for Global Guest Teacher.

Remote teaching


Students receive and submit assignments digitally. Besides digital textbooks, we use video introductions and offer supervision via video conference.

Blended learning


A combination of Instruction types.
